SEEDS
Our Mission at Eagle Heights Baptist Church is to be and make disciples of Jesus Christ.
The best way we have found to communicate how we do that is through a farming analogy called "SEEDS." Historically, corn has been a major part of our area's economy, so the images we are using are an attempt to help us understand and remember how discipleship of Jesus Christ works.
SSERVICE- While we show Christ’s mercy and compassion by serving those without Him, the Holy Spirit continues to prepare their hearts to receive the seed of the Gospel. This is represented by a plough preparing the ground to receive seed.
EEVANGELISM- While we preach and teach the wonders of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the seed takes root and begins to grow. This is represented by the earliest beginnings of a corn stalk, sprouting up.
EENTRY- As new Christians begin to enter our church, we do our best to aid the Holy Spirit’s work in making them into mature Christians. This is represented by a more mature corn stalk growing out of the ground.
DDISCIPLESHIP- While we are never perfected in this life, the Holy Spirit’s work eventually produces a mature Christian who will naturally begin bringing the Gospel to others. This is represented by a mature corn ear, full of seed.
SSERVICE- The Christian will begin to serve non-Christians in an effort to show Christ’s mercy and compassion, which will start the process over again. This is represented by another plough, starting another generation of seed planting.
